A Seminar on “Indo-German Academic Exchange and Trade Relations” was organized by Techno India College of Technology on 2nd August, 2017 at the auditorium of the College. This initiative was taken to apprise the students of the possibilities of pursuing higher studies in Germany and explore the opportunities of working in Germany. The Director General, Dr Milan Bhattacharya felicitated the guests with flowers and the Director of the Institute, Dr R T Goswami delivered the welcome address. The audience was shown a power point presentation on the diverse activities of Techno India Group by DrSummauliPyne, Head-International Relations, TIG. Ms Sabina Pandey, Regional Director of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata delivered a presentation on “German companies in India – Achievements, Challenges and Opportunities”. She also conducted an interactive session on the Vocational Traning opportunities in Germany. Prof (Dr) Amitava Gupta, DAAD Research Ambassador (German Academic Exchange Service), spoke at length on the criteria and scope of various scholarships in Germany and specially illustrated the prospects of DAAD Scholarship. Mr Rajesh Nath, Managing Director, VDMA India Services Pvt Ltd, spoke on “Indo-German Trade in engineering sector”. DrAmlanChakrabarti, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology and the Director of the A K Choudhury School of Information Technology, University of Calcutta spoke on the criteria and prospects of Erasmus scholarship. Prof (DR) RanjanGanguly, Associate Professor, Jadavpur University elaborated on the criteria and scop of AvH scholarship in Germany. Finally the representatives of the MaxMuellerBhavan headed by MsSushmitaMondol, Officer – Political affairs, Culture, Press & Public Relations, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany further informed the students of the various avenues for getting scholarships in Germany and the opportunities of learning German language in Kolkata. The Programme ended with a Vote of Thanks by DrSarup Prasad Ghosh, Registrar, TICT.
